Catching up on the reports...fishing has been good lately. Sunday I had a Feenstra Guide Service trip. A great father and son duo who really enjoyed being outside. The day started with a few chunky trout to hand, then a couple salmon and a chrome steelhead to finish off the day. Steelhead fishing will only get better from here on out until winter comes.

Simply put...salmon are big this year. Pictured is 12 year old Takka with his 22lb family record salmon. Good numbers of salmon are available. Some big ones around too. Seeing some active trout behind spawning salmon.

Report 8/9/13
Spent a wonderful day on the Muskegon river with Frank and his son Mark. Both were new to fly fishing, but really enjoyed themselves. Water is low and clear, but the bass were willing participants. Streamers were the ticket today.

Report 8/6/13
40's at night and a high of 50f on my birthday(July 27). What a crazy summer. Hasn't slowed fishing down. Bass fishing continues to produce on the Grand and Muskegon. Summer steelhead are making appearances in select systems. Trout fishing is continuing to hang in there with the cooler evening temps bringing water temps down.
Looking forward to heading to Belize in September to chase bonefish, permit, and tarpon. Got the new Simms flats boots in the mail the other day.

Report 6/29/13
Got out for the Hex last night. Fishing was good for a period, then the weather turned cool. We were lucky that the rain moved out and had a billion stars to look at as well as the northern lights. Love this time of year.

Report 6-4-13
The weather roller coaster continues. 80's one day...frost warning the next. We wrapped up a good steelhead season recently. Trout fishing has taken center stage now. Dry fly, wet fly, and streamer fishing all have opportunities on any given day. I am seeing hatches of gray drakes, sulphurs, and caddis on the Muskegon. Further north, brown drakes have started to appear. Love the month of June. Pictured is myself with a 20 inch brown taken on a dry fly.

High water report
Water on the Muskegon river is over 7200cfs and on the rise. Had trips on monday and tuesday of this week with more than challenging conditions. Steelhead were caught, but conditions warrant heavy weight and bright flies. As of this morning, access to the river has been blocked by the county.
Pictured is robert with a chrome steelhead from Monday.

Chrome
Fishing continues on a normal pace. Weather has been a bit crazy this week. Snow, snow, and more snow. Cold temps. Good thing is the Muskegon is running around 3100cfs. Pictured is a nice chrome steelhead and yours truly.

Report 3/9/13
On the way to NYC, stopped in Pennsylvania to have lunch and came across this mountain stream. Nice spot to have lunch and stretch our legs. Did not see any trout though. We'll keep looking.

Report 3-4-13
Just a quick report. We are in the grips of Winter, but steelheading has been good on certain days. Did some fishing with friend, Matt Brayman and had a good day. Egg flies and salmon par imitations have picked up fish as well as black stones on warm days.
